Asset Protection at the Highest Level

Frequently Asked Questions

What is independent wealth management?

An independent asset manager is legally and operationally separate from the custodian bank. He develops the investment strategy and manages the portfolio within the framework of a mandate. The assets are held in custody at a custodian bank. The selection of investments is not limited to the products of a single bank but is based on a “best-in-class” approach.

Where are my assets held?

Your accounts and securities accounts are held at a custodian bank mutually agreed upon. Plutos Vermögensverwaltung Schweiz does not hold client funds and is granted only the powers necessary for management in accordance with the banking and mandate agreement.

Will I remain the owner of my assets?

Yes. You remain the owner of your accounts and assets. You receive the bank statements and retain direct oversight of your securities account.

Who makes the investment decisions?

Under an asset management mandate, Plutos Asset Management Switzerland makes day-to-day investment decisions within the strategy and restrictions agreed upon with you. Fundamental objectives and guidelines are defined together with you.

What is the minimum net worth required to collaborate?

Our personalized wealth management services currently start at CHF 1,000,000. Depending on your situation, strategy and portfolio structure, we will discuss with you in person whether a partnership is feasible.

Do I have to live in Switzerland?

Not necessarily. We can serve clients from select countries of residence, provided that this is permitted under the applicable cross-border regulations, your personal status and the custodian bank’s rules. Every international inquiry is reviewed in advance.

Which investment strategy is right for me?

That depends on your goals, your investment horizon, your financial obligations, your risk capacity and your personal risk tolerance. That is why we do not offer a blanket recommendation until we understand your situation.

In which currencies can my assets be held?

The appropriate reference currency and currency structure are determined on a case-by-case basis. Commonly used currencies include the Swiss franc, the euro and the U.S. dollar. Your lifestyle, financial obligations and investment profile are key factors in this decision.

How liquid are my assets?

Liquidity depends on the investment instruments used. We coordinate liquidity reserves and planned disbursements with you based on the financial plan.

How will I be notified about my portfolio?

You will receive the documentation and access to your bank’s brokerage account. In addition, we will regularly discuss portfolio performance, changes and risks with you. The format and frequency of reporting depend on the mandate and the custodian bank’s technical setup.

How much does asset management cost?

Our fees are agreed upon transparently before the engagement begins. In addition, costs associated with the custodian bank, product costs, transaction costs and other fees may apply. You will receive a clear overview of all relevant costs.

Does Plutos Asset Management Switzerland receive payments from product providers or banks?

The handling of any payments from third parties is disclosed transparently and governed by the asset management agreement. The applicable contractual documents in effect at the time are decisive.

How is Plutos Asset Management Switzerland regulated?

Plutos Asset Management (Switzerland) AG is licensed by FINMA as an asset manager and is supervised by the AOOS. The company is affiliated with a recognized ombudsman service.
